Bevan Stauffer joined the Secure Community Network (SCN) in September 2022 as the Regional Director for Region V. He manages community and regional security programs and services to Jewish Federations and communities while leading a diverse team of Regional Security Advisors and Community Security Directors. These programs provide security guidance, risk assessments, law enforcement liaison, training, emergency planning and preparedness, community awareness and outreach services, and incident response.

Before joining SCN, Bevan served for 30 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He began as a Special Agent in Columbus, Ohio, in 1992, specializing in investigations of organized crime, bank fraud, and wire fraud. From 1994 to 2003, he led the “Safe Streets” violent crime task force, comprising representatives of the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Secret Service, and state and local law enforcement. 

From 2003 to 2017, Bevan focused on counterintelligence threat assessment and mitigation through investigations of intelligence officers, terrorists, and subjects committing corporate espionage. From 2017 until his retirement from the FBI in 2022, he served in Charlotte, N.C., as a Supervisory Special Agent in the National Covert Operations Section. In this capacity, he directed the FBI’s transnational covert operations for the East Coast Region. 

Bevan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northern Illinois University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago. He is a certified instructor for counterintelligence, undercover operations, firearms, SWAT and sniper operations, tactical proficiency, and defensive tactics.
