Wendy Berger

Wendy Berger is the principal and founder of WBS Equities, LLC., a real estate development company that specializes in environmentally sustainable food manufacturing and food distribution facilities. Berger also serves as a Director of the Board at Green Thumb Industries Inc., a national cannabis consumer packaged goods company and retailer.
Over her career, Berger has been involved in the real estate business as a developer, lender, property manager, broker, and investor. Berger also spent 10 years working with technology startups, to include at one of one of the country’s first website development firms and at the travel website Orbitz, where she served as the the Director of Enterprise Planning.
Berger serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Public Library Foundation and chairs the Governance Committee. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF), where she is also a Vice-Chair and served as the 2019 General Campaign Chair, raising a record-setting $89 million. Berger was a participant in the 2011 class of Leadership Greater Chicago, is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage Program, and was a member of both the United Jewish Communities National Young Leadership Cabinet as well as The Hillels of Illinois Governing Commission. Berger is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and served as the chair of the Real Estate Membership Committee.
In her spare time Berger is an avid triathlete and runner, having completed 34 Olympic Distance triathlons and 8 half-marathons.
Berger earned her MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. She received a B.S., cum laude, in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University.
