Dena Weiss is the Assistant Director of the Secure Community Network. In this role, she is responsible for defining and executing organizational priorities in furtherance of SCN’s mission. These efforts include leading public policy and related efforts on behalf of the organization, as well as overseeing SCN’s fundraising and resource development, marketing, and communications.

Prior to becoming SCN’s Assistant Director, Dena served as the organization’s Chief of Staff from 2018-2023, overseeing and managing strategic and programmatic efforts, select operational initiatives, and external partnerships for the national organization. In the role, she served as a strategic advisor to the National Director and CEO, and managed engagement for SCN’s Board of Directors.

Dena came to SCN in 2018 with extensive experience serving the Jewish community and the nonprofit and government sectors. She previously led public affairs and community engagement efforts for the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast United States and served in the press department for the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C.

Dena Weiss earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from The George Washington University and a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University, with a concentration in policy analysis and global conflict and security.
