Kenneth Mead
Regional Security Advisor, Nevada
Ken Mead joined the Secure Community Network (SCN) in 2024 as Regional Security Advisor for JewishNevada. In this role, Mead oversees the safety and security of approximately 70,000 Jewish residents and over 47 distinct facilities across the state. Additionally, he administers the Federation’s community security programs, providing consultations, building and organizational assessments, training and drills, threat mitigation for Jewish organizations, and response coordination for critical incidents.
Prior to joining SCN, Mead served as Regional Prevention Coordinator for Terrorism and Targeted Violence for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. For 26 years, he served in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), including as an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force member and as a program coordinator for LVMPD’s Threat Assessment Program for Targeted Violence (TAP). He concurrently served as the terrorism liaison to the Nevada legislative session in 2022-2023 and the LVMPD liaison to Interpol, coordinating international law enforcement requests in Southern Nevada.
