Michael Shanbrom
Regional Security Advisor, New Haven CT
Michael “Mike” Shanbrom joined the Secure Community Network (SCN) in September of 2021 as the Regional Security Advisor for Jewish Community Partners – The Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, The Jewish Federation of Western CT, The Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, and UJA JCC Greenwich. In this role, Mike administers a security program that provides consultations, building/organizational assessments, training/drills, and threat mitigation to Jewish organizations, including schools, daycare centers, synagogues, camps, assisted living facilities, and various other Jewish facilities.
Before joining SCN, Mike served as the Senior Administrator for Compliance and Facility Security Officer for the University of Connecticut (UConn). Before his position at UConn, Mike served as Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 20 years. He held various national security leadership positions in Denver, Washington D.C., and New Haven field offices. He participated in recovery operations in the aftermath of 9/11 and was involved in the Robert Hanssen spy case.
Mike holds a Master’s degree in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven.
