Phil Niedringhaus
Regional Director, Region VIII
Philip Niedringhaus serves as the Regional Director for Region VIII for Secure Community Network (SCN). In this role, Phil is responsible for the oversight, development, and management of the SCN Regional Security Advisor (RSA) and SCN Community Security Director (CSD) programs in Region VIII. On July 13, 2020, he first joined SCN as the Regional Security Advisor with Secure Community Network for JEWISHcolorado.
Phil retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation on June 30, 2020 after a 29-year career. Prior to his FBI career, Phil served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and as a Special Agent with the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office, Division of Criminal Investigation.
In the FBI Phil served in Anchorage, Alaska, Great Falls, Montana, FBI Headquarters and Denver, Colorado. During his career Phil developed expertise in complex violent crime investigations, tactical
operations, law enforcement instruction and domestic terrorism investigations. Phil worked in the FBI
undercover program for 25 years and was one of the first FBI Undercover Employees to successfully penetrate white supremacy organizations in the middle 1990s. Phil served in numerous leadership roles in both the field and at FBI Headquarters to include running the FBI’s Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force which is a multi-jurisdictional task force addressing violent crime in Denver, Colorado.
Phil is a native of South Dakota and is a graduate of Augustana University and is the proud father of two sons and a daughter.
