Susan Case DeMari

Susan DeMari has served at the sinlge point of contact with law enforcement for the Jewish Community in Central New York since 2000, and in her current role of Director of Security, administers a robust security program that provides safety-related services to Jewish organizations, including schools, daycare centers, synagogues, camps, assisted living facilities, and other Jewish facilities. 

DeMari holds a Juris Doctor degree with a focus in Criminal Justice from Syracuse Univeristy and is the recepient of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award.  During her 24-year career serving the Jewish community, DeMari has proactively responded to the measurable increase in antisemitic behavior and threats against the Jewish community along side of law enforcement at all levels, for which she has recevied several commendations.  Under DeMari’s leadership, Federation is committed to mitigating the threat, violence and abhorrent rhetoric faced by the Jewish community and has assisted in developing a professional security system, to include assisting with the means for target-hardening of facilities and provide training developed exclusively for the community.  DeMari is always working to assist the Federation in being better prepared, more resilient and ready to confront potential threats.
