National Update On The Rise Of Swatting & Bomb Threats During The High Holiday Season

SCN has worked in coordination with local, state, and federal authorities to respond to swatting incidents and false bomb threats and ensure coordination between law enforcement and the Jewish community across North America, to include safety and security resources and a national swatting update in conjunction with the Major Cities Chiefs Association, which over 1,400 community members and law enforcement representatives attended.

    When an incident occurs, it can impact one or more community organizations and requires a coordinated, strategic management effort separate from the tactical management of the incident that will occur at the affected organization(s). To accomplish this, a Crisis Management Plan (CMP) should be developed for the community by the Federation or convening agency. The purpose of the CMP is to outline the local Federation or agency’s approach to a coordinated crisis management effort.
